I've learned that fear limits you and your vision. It serves as blinders to what may be just a few steps down the road for you. The journey is valuable, but believing in your talents, your abilities, and your self-worth can empower you to walk down an even brighter path. Transforming fear into freedom how great is that? – Soledad O'Brien
I want to live, really live.
To be alive and enjoy the purposes I’ve been created for.
To be a partner who doesn’t have to push through past hurts to be present in intimacy
To be a mother who isn’t so consumed by fear that my child could actually live a life of sweet freedom
To travel and see the world without my traumatic fear autocorrecting the GPS and compasses
To pray prayers of celebration, amazement and awe with God instead of persist lamentations
To show up as my authentic self without guilt, shame, fear or brokenness.
To not be consumed by navigating myself through societal racism, sexism and homophobia.
I use to fight because fight it what was given to be to survive. Black woman are always fight something in a world created not to love us. But at this point I’ll either keep moving toward living or accept despair and defeat. Because one of the single most exhausting things about it all is the fight.
